You Asked For It, You Got It! #LoisLane75yrs

LoisLane75yrsbig

YOU HAVE THE POWER!

On April 18th, #LoisLane75yrs trended on Twitter.  Fans of Lois Lane gave DC Comics some backlash at the thought of having no Lois Lane celebration for her 75th Anniversary.  Lois was created in Action #1, 1938 along side Superman and Clark Kent.  DC Comics has ‘caved’ (their own words) and given us Lois Lane: A Celebration of 75 Years.   This 384 page hard cover, graphic novel will be in stores on Wednesday, November 27th.  Just days before ‘Black Friday’ shopping day in the US.  Be sure to get it for the Lois Lane fan in your life.  Please check with your local comic book shop to be sure you can get your book!  Or you can pre-order it on Amazon.  Do it now!

Inside the book you will find the following stories (all before the new 52 versions):

Action #1 (1938) – the story that started it all.  See Clark & Lois’ first date as well as Superman & Lois’ first interaction.

Action #2 – Clark & Lois’ first investigative story together aboard a steamer.

Action #6 – Clark  & Lois’ second date and a Superman imposter.

Superman’s Girl Friend Lois Lane #106 – (1970) Lois Lane becomes a black woman.

Action #484 – 40th Anniversary story – (Golden Age/Earth2) Superman Takes a Wife involving 2 wedding ceremonies.  This story started the Superman Family books.

Man of Steel #2 – John Byrne mini-series where Lois Lane finally scores a personal interview with Superman.

Action #600 – 50th Anniversary story – Clark dumps Wonder Woman for Lois Lane.

Action #662 – Clark Kent reveals his secret identity to his fiancee, Lois Lane.

Adventures of Superman #631 – Lois Lane Kent imbedded investigative reporter in the Umec War.

All Star Superman #2 – by Grant Morrison. Superman takes Lois Lane to his Fortress of Solitude for her birthday.

All Star Superman #3 – by Grant Morrison. Superman gives Lois the capability to be super for one day.

Those pesky multiple storied issues:  (we don’t know which story DC will pick):

Showcase #9 – (1957) Lois meets Lana OR Lois tries to protect Superman’s secret identity OR Lois dreams of being Mrs. Superman and having a baby

Superman’s Girl Friend Lois Lane #5 – (1958) Superman gives up his powers for Lois’ doppelganger OR See why Lois is known as the Girl of 100 Costumes OR Lois gets fat to solve a case

Superman’s Girl Friend Lois Lane #16 – Superman gives Lois a signal watch OR Lois wears a French maid outfit to solve a mystery with Clark OR Lois becomes the Kryptonite Girl

Superman’s Girl Friend Lois Lane #23 – Lois becomes Elastic Lass OR Lois suffers under the curse of Lena Thorul (Luthor) OR the trails of being married to Silver Age Clark with two kids

Superman’s Girl Friend Lois Lane #42 – Lois in Atlantis OR Lois contemplates 3 wishes OR Superman & Lois become kids

Wonder Woman #170 – (2001) Lois interviews Wonder Woman for a day

Superman 80 Page Giant 2011 – Lois Lane Kent and Lana Lang Ross try to return a man’s wallet OR the one with Bizarro Lois

Even more complicated – which volume of Superman comics & which story will DC choose:

Superman v1 #29 – (1944) Lois vs the Prankster OR the 1st Lois Lane solo story:  Lois Lane Girl Reporter OR

Superman v2 #29 – (1989) Superman’s in space while Lois mourns Clark Kent’s disappearance and then investigates a military installation

Superman v1 #33 – (1945) Superman & Lois visit Mr. Mxyztplk OR another Lois Lane Girl Reporter story OR

Superman v2 #33 – (1989) Superman is still in space, but Clark has returned to work at the Daily Planet.  He doesn’t recognize Lois.

Superman v1 #34 – (1945)  Lois Lane Girl Reporter  OR Lois sees Clark change into Superman OR Clark drags Lois around while Luthor and aliens make everyone tired.  (no Lois in volume 2, 1989 of #34)

Superman v2 #168 – (no Lois in the v1 Superman 168)  Lois Lane Kent & Batman invade President Lex Luthor’s White House. (2001)  Hopefully DC will include the crossover in Detective 756.

DC listed Superman: Lois Lane #1 which we were unable to find a reference to.  However, that is the name of Lois’ double issue done in one written by Marguerite Bennett to be published February 26, 2014.  So put that on your pull list now.

Our 75 years of Lois book is a reality, let’s support it.  More fun things to come in the days ahead to show DC Comics we LOVE OUR LOIS!

Stay tuned for more ideas on how to make Lois Lane a money maker!
