Erica Durance starring as Maid Marion in new Robin Hood Movie!

By Kate Blake,  Admin CCC and Multipleverses

Thanks to Jay on DI for the heads up we have info on the movie Erica has been filming this fall!

Smallville’s Lois Lane  is Maid Marion in the upcoming movie Robin Hood: Beyond Sherwood

IMDB Info
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1331323/

Plot Description:
A reimagining of the classic Robin Hood tale merges the elements of magic and medieval romance. The Sheriff of Nottingham has targeted Robin and his band of heroes dwelling within Sherwood Forest. To destroy his enemies, the Sheriff unleashes an unstoppable creature that transforms at night into Alina, a striking woman. Robin must find a cure for Alina before her terror spreads, all the while keeping his childhood love Maid Marion out of harm’s way.

Movie is directed by Stargate’s Peter Deluise- love the SG family connection there! Remember Erica’s sister is married to SG-1 star Christopher Judge’s brother- and her husband played not one but two SG-1 bad guys during Deluise’s long reign as one of the top creative team members for the enduring series. Peter made an appearance on the CW himself last season as the possessed FBI that comes to kill Sam and Dean during the Supernatural episode Jus in Bello.

Co-starring with Erica as her Robin Hood is Sanctuary’s Robin Dunne. Dunne plays Amanda Tapping’s ( more SG-1 connections!) second in command, her protege on the hit SCI-FI Channel series.

Also appearing in this movie- I am assuming he is playing a bad guy again- is Julian Sands. Sands was recently seen on Lipstick Jungle and made a memorable appearance in SG-1 season 10 as the prime Ori who threatened all life as we know it in the Milky Way Galaxy.

The production company behind the film is Front Street Pictures whose recent film “The Lost Treasure of the Grand Canyon” starring Shannen Doherty ( Charmed) and Michael Shanks ( SG-1 again) saw a very successful run on the SCI-FI Channel right before Christmas.

Robin is very easy on the eyes- here is an example from the pilot episode of Sanctuary- he has put his Dawson’s Creek days well behind him and should fill out a pair of tights very nicely- he stripped down to his boxers tonight in the season finale and had nothing to be ashamed of!

Best thing? He is intelligent, funny and very enthusiastic- I am betting he and Erica had a blast working together. I had the pleasure of seeing Robin at the Sanctuary panel at Comic Con in San Diego back in July.

No word on whether this is a two hour or a four hour production. As a movie for the SCIFI Channel I am betting we see a spring release date. Great thing? These movies head to DVD quickly after airing so everyone will get to purchase a copy for their collection and the movie should air in HD! If you don’t get the SCIFI Channel- this is a great excuse to subscribe- if watching the last episodes of Battlestar Galactica were not enough already…..
