On screen, Arthur also makes quite the impression on Lois. You would have to be blind not to notice his chiseled features and inviting smile, yet arguably, it is the personality and charm which reels her in. “AC is really her love interest,” states Alan. “Lois is always the hardened, I-was-raised-by-my-there-star-general-father character, and AC is really the first one to break through. Because of that, she accepts him and his strengths. They hit it off quite well, so there might be some sparks flying.”

Erica Durance had to conquer her fear of water for those scenes, too. “Actually, we talked about this the other day,” admits Alan. “I was informed of that before I got to set. I was trying to be extra patient, nurturing, and caring to help her feel better. I’ll do anything, but she was obviously very upset when it came time for us to get into the water. We had just finished a scene on the dock and Erica had to get in the water. She started to break down a little bit and I felt really bad. We made sure she was okay, she gained her composure, and went head strong into it. Erica knew it had to be done because it is a big part of the episode, and she did it well. Once she got over those initial 15 seconds, she pulled it together.”
